Our rehabilitation studio at HWH is used for weekly Yoga & Pilates sessions. These sessions are personalised and tailored as they hold a maximum of three people.

Yoga with Louisa Koussertari

Class info and teaching style

Louisa’s sessions will be tailored to your ability so don’t worry what stage you are at. She will be offering a customised yoga practice, originating from modified Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow with attention to the breath, modifications for ease and stability, strengthening, alignment and mindfulness.

As an introductory offer, your first 3 sessions will be £15 each. Please note there can only be a maximum of 3 people per session, so book quick! Introductory offer will be running until 12th February 2019.

Reformer pilates

Pilates with Cathy Bishop

Class info and teaching style

One to one and buddy Pilates classes are completely tailored to the needs of the individual, and are based on an initial private consultation session, where we will discuss your experience of your body, needs and goals, before getting you moving. Classes will include some matwork as well as use of the Pilates reformer, combining breath and movement in each exercise. There is no need to have prior experience of Pilates, just a willingness to give it a try!

Whilst we are very happy to work with specific areas of injury or weakness, Pilates is a holistic practise, meaning that we will work the whole body, and not just specific joints or muscle groups. Cathy’s overall approach is to look at postural and movement preferences and tendencies, and help clients work towards bringing the body into a more balanced state, where movement can happen with ease.

 

Other aims may include; reduction of stress through improved breathing and mind-body connection, improving balance and coordination, reducing tension, improving trunk stability to manage back pain, maintaining/improving freedom of movement in the spine, shoulders, hips etc.  Throughout our sessions we will maintain a dialogue in order that you get the challenge that you need to keep seeing improvement, without overdoing it. Rest assured that we build from wherever you are, and really have no limit to the breadth of full body repertoire that we can work up to.

 

There is no need to bring trainers to class, just comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement, and a pair of socks. Whilst classes are not aerobic, we would recommend coming to class well hydrated in order to get the most from your session.
