Cathy Bishop Pilates Instructor Pilates sessions with Cathy can be made on: Tuesday: 4.30pm - 7.30pm Thursday: 4.30pm - 7.30pm Check our bookings/prices for 1-2-1 sessions and block booking discounts. For groups of up to 3 people please contact us for pricing. Cathy started practising Pilates in order to address a gradually increasing sense of discomfort in her body, after many years in a desk job in the engineering profession. Although she was a keen climber and skier, with good balance and coordination, she gradually became aware of how to improve upon some of the imbalances within her body in terms of both strength and mobility, through her practise of Pilates. After several years of weekly classes, Cathy was so struck by the versatility of the Pilates method in terms of the possibility to work with clients needing help with rehabilitation of injuries, through to fine tuning of very active, sporty clients, that she decided to train as a teacher. She selected the most in depth training offered within the UK, by the Pilates Foundation, and carried out a 2 year training apprenticeship with Anne-Marie Zulkahari. Through her training, Cathy has found a deeper understanding not only of the mechanics of the body, but also of how the body as a whole can respond to the Pilates method, bringing improved mind-body connection and a sense of ease.
